WEIT and Doing the Best We Can

September 5, 2009

My current experience of my busy, hectic, fun, creative, abundant days is totally a result of the mantra I re-committed to in May:

WEIT or What Ever It Takes

Having wisdom and metaphysical information, does not mean it is easy to act from the that consciousness on a day to day basis. I do believe that we ’sabotage our success’ specifically because human beings often prefer to delegate the responsibility of their own lives to someone else.

I am not sure where the blame game started. It does not matter. What matters to me now is to watch my thoughts and speech to listen for the C-word “can’t or cannot”. When I say that word, I have to remember that I (me, myself, no one else) is putting up a boundary to the possibilities that exist.

What ever it takes is the reminder to be inventive. The human ego loves to celebrate it’s cleverness. There is no doubt we are clever animals. However, the reality is we are still animals. We have primal needs and instincts. That is why intuition for me is still the most important life skill we can develop. It is a something that we already have and do not need to go out side of ourselves to obtain.

If I am taking action and doing. If I am being honest and really giving something my best intention. If I am willing to trust that the possibility does exisit that what I desire to be can, instead of cannot, come into being. Then I take back the power to have what I want from everybody else and life circumstances.

My brain surgery anniversary is in a few days. The perfect example of this is on my face. The right side was completely 100% paralized 11 years ago September 8, 1998.

One year later there was 1.8% of function and 98.2% of non-function. The Stanford doctor calmly told me that there would not be any more recovery to the nerve.

Of course, I asked him, “How can you say such a thing to me?” He said very confidentely, “I am a Doctor at Stanford. I have more experience than you at this.” I replied, “You do not know who I am!” I have a lot more experience of witnessing miracles. The result of what I believe to be true is evident in my smile today.

Now getting the recovery on my nerve was work. Everyday for 3.5 years I put accupuncture needles in my face. That was a huge time commitment to myself. No one else could give me the permission to schedule my own healing into everyday. It was not a task that I delegated to another person. There were many, many other contributing factors to the results of the recovery. However, I am convinced it was my commitment to do what ever it took, to not have the outcome of my actions result in the loss of function to my face.

None of us are experts at everything. This is not necessary for social animals like humans. We are designed to share the experience of this world. We are designed to think differently, see differently, speak differently, hear differently, feel differently, taste differently or we would not have our own bodies. Though we are a part of the one consciousness of God, we are individualized expressions of that great mystery.

When you are stuck try to remember, to just do the best you can. When I  keep doing something however small or insignificant it might be, I know things will change. They have to as it is one of the constants of life. When you are stuck, just the action of thinking the mantra WEIT will change your circumstances from being victimized by conditions to taking the power back to where it belongs, with you.

I am in the Singapore airport on my way to the Sri Vast ashram to fulfill a life long dream to pray and meditate in the ancient ways of India. My fantasy was always that my soulmate and I would do this together. Well, I am no longer waiting for anyone to have my dreams come true.

One week from witnessing Obama become our President, I was in Tokyo for a day layover. Tonight I arrive in Chennai and will meet up with my cousin and his wife from St. Louis who is doing missionary work. Amazing how small this world really is.

Stay tuned for more photos and writings about my observations on the human condition and my experiences as I participate in the moment where ever I am on the planet.

I am in India until February 9 when I go to Bali. I am doing my own version of Liz Gilbert’s Eat, Pray, Love! Since I have been to Italy several times, I am following her path from the pray chapter.

There is no doubt love is before me. It is in me and I am sharing it where ever I go.

Magic happens.

Washington the Day After

January 22, 2009

I am now on a train from DC to Philly. It is 6:30 am and this is the second day this week I am up at 3 am. Sleeping in my own bed in San Diego is looking pretty attractive to me right now. Yesterday, Kyra stayed with our hosts, hung out with family, and warmed her bones a bit. I, however, had not had enough of Washington to suit my Spirit. The Goddess Carolioness and I had to spend some quality time. After all, she was here from Switzerland, well actually France just over the boarder, and we had to play.

Napkin Art for their collection

First order of business was that Caroline, nicknamed Carolioness by me due to 3 things:  her hair, she is a Leo, and well, she is courageous bar none! So, here we are at a Quasi-British pub discovered by the Englishwoman her Lionessa. Chosen for the name and not the food quality, it was the perfect place for us to start our DC adventure and catch up.

Caroline and I had to contribute to the growing collection of Lion Art hanging on the wall right next to us. It was perfect, there were just 2 spaces left. My contribution is of a cute Lioness chewing on a heart. Aslynn the name of one of my Angel’s is also the name of C.S. Lewis’s Lion in his famous Chronicle’s of Narina. He spelled it different than she spells her name. However, my dyslexia was clearly evident surely activated by sleep deprivation. Anyway, my Angel guide reminds me all the time to use my will for the greater good, similar to the teachings shared in the Chronicle’s of Narina by Lewis.

We chose to meet at that specific location to be at a Metro stop convenient for us both and close to the Lincoln Memorial. I had not been able to get there yet and it was a must for both Caroline and I. Lincoln and his story is so alive in Obama’s life and we must go where our Spirit calls us. The Lion is also alive in Obama’s story.

Carolioness's Contribution & Life Philosophy

Carolioness's Contribution & Life Philosophy

The lion is Obama’s sign as he is a Leo brother for Carolioness. Whether you believe in Astrology or not, it is of no matter. I do. If you read what my buddy Lance Ferguson said on his Skywatch Tuesday, the stars were just perfectly aligned for our new President. He needs the power, strength, creativity, and passion represented by the Lion. He must be lion-hearted as our leader willing to protect our Nation. There is much to gain by both preserving our traditions and creating new opportunities.

It is now nearly 9 am. I have gotten off Amtrak at the main station in Philadelphia. When I booked my trip to DC on Southwest 2 days before Christmas, there were no available free seats into Washington. I took the opportunity to come to Philadelphia and train back and forth.

I have never been here to witness the Liberty Bell and walk the path of our Nations history. What a perfect time to be here today. It is still cold. I still have on my long underwear, cashmere, coat, hat, Uggs, and gloves. My Mom compared the photos of Kyra and I before and after outerwear. She commented on how much thinner we looked in the before shots~thanks Mom!

I will write more later today from the airport of some of the magical moments I had with people in Washington over the last few days. I need to leave you however with an email I received on Inauguration Day from my friend Donna at The Unity Center in San Diego. This is a living example of how welcomed our choices are for people around the world:

Hello Everyone!

What a day!

I thought you would like to see this and how some of the rest of the world is responding-

Hugs,
Donna

Hi Everyone:  Well, this was just lovely … sent by dear friend Annabelle (who is in Thailand) from her friend Steve (who is in Iraqi Kurdisan) about today’s events… I thought you would enjoy it, so sending it along.  Blessings, Vicky

Subject: [Mrgcoop] My inauguration experience

Ok, so I said I’d wait a bit before sending anything more out to this list serve about life in Kurdistan or Iraq, but what happened tonight was so extraordinary, I need to send it.

The group I work with at the Embassy (locally here in Kurdistan) have permission to leave our compound 1 time per week for social reasons.  With a significant, but unnecessary, security detail.  (Erbil is very safe if you are American) We planned a trip to a German Kurdish restaurant for tonight 2 weeks ago, without considering the inauguration when we did so.  This morning, I called the restaurant to see if there was a TV there, as we all wanted to see the event.  (note that many there are political appointees here of the prior administration) the restaurant staff said they didn’t have one, but would “see what they could do”  being the middle east, we didn’t have high expectations…  when we arrived, there was a huge American flag flying outside the restaurant.  Inside was another large flag (our reservation was for 10 people) and a 20′ x 30′ projection TV with CNN on  a wall!

The most amazing thing happened when the swearing in took place.  When the President (elect) took his place at the podium, every employee came out of the kitchen, every Kurdish and Iraqi patron stood up…we followed their lead, and many cried while he was sworn in…i cannot even attempt to understand the emotions which took place here, in a non descript restaurant, in Erbil Kurdistan…and we had to argue with the owner to be able to pay our full bill…they wanted to cover it…in a place where people earn an average of 3k per year.  I thought that you might be interested in this observation of what just happened, in this remote part of the world, as American democracy shows its face yet again.

Congressman Bob Filner & Kyra Randall & Our Ticket's to the Show

Congressman Bob Filner & Kyra & Our Ticket's to the Show

On Monday the first and last thing we needed to do was pick up our official tickets. We did not leave Upper Marlboro until around 11:30. Little did we realize that the line to get into the Congressman’s office alone would be a 2 hour wait! However, once again the mood of the crowd was congenial and friendly. If only the world could be like this all of the time!

Be sure to look at the 2 photo albums now on Smugmug.

It was just remarkable to be in the scene on Tuesday. I am EXHAUSTED but still in wonder. It is really fine that I was not able to attend any party or function after. I am happy to watch the party and the review of today on TV.

It was cold. I mean COLD. I had on lots of clothes. I was pretty warm but after a few hours, it was hard not to have my feet and fingers talking to me. Look at the blog for all the photos. I have been told several times by Kyra that she will never visit a cold place again! I realized though I need to visit cold places because it is in my Midwestern blood to feel the air when it is crystal in your lungs. It opens my heart even more.

The funny story of the Inaugruation is that we were assigned tickets into the Silver section. My pal Caroline Hunt from Geneva when finding out I was coming, decided she needed to as well. She too scored through her network a Silver ticket. Kyra and I got up at 3, left for the train at 4:30 and were at the gates by 5:40. The trains were already packed to the gills at that hour.

We stood in line until 6:30 when they let us into the first level. Then at 8 the inner area was opened. Kyra and I had a difference of opinion about where to stand and I went to the far left of the Mall. At around 9:30 one of the gates just near where I was opened and a flood of people rushed forward to the other side of the reflection pond. I found out later today, it was my FRIEND Carolioness that pushed open the gate for hundreds to get closer.

Kyra followed the rush first. I held back as wanting to not get too separated. The cell service was not very functional. Eventually, I got a call and too went forward to the front. I ended up on a gate and had a birds eye view. I could even through my binoculars see Yo-Yo Ma and Itzhak Perlman playing their instruments. It was precious and priceless.

At the reception at the Cannon House I finally was able to talk to Caroline. It was then I found out my Warrior-Goddess friend was the liberator for so many. I am sure the news will report it happening. Now you know the truth of who knocked down the gate. Of course, I am here with a million plus people but know at least one that could make a difference for many!?!?!? And I know another……

Christmas Blessings

December 24, 2008

I have been sooo busy that I have thought about posting a message but not been able to bring the thought to action. This morning I woke up at 5 am Pacific Standard Time just plain excited about…life. I need to share some of that excitement with you. I want to give Christmas Blessings of love through my words.

I was supposed to go to Portland on Saturday for my friend Mindy Roddy’s 50th birthday party. Mindy had been planning this party since July. Mindy, just so you know is someone who rivals Martha Stewart when it comes to party planning, home decor, and well, just being the Hostess with the Most-tess! I am sure you have heard about our winter wonderland here in North America. My plane was canceled and I missed the party….darn!

Well, I was reminded again that Mother Nature is bigger than us all. When I could not get out the second try on Monday, the Southwest customer service man asked me if I would teach classes at the gate for their passengers of how to handle a cancelled flight. He said those words “there is a greater power than us” made his day. So, I gave him a hug and he told me now I had made his Christmas.

So, I need to send you the the Blog post I put on my real estate company’s site about sharing the Spirit of the Season. It is titled “Infecting the World with Happiness and Creating Positive Change.” This Christmas more than ever I have seen people in Santa hats, elf hats, and reindeer ears and cars decorated. I have also seen more accidents on the road, rudeness in stores, and crazy driving in parking lots. What a paradox this is!? I hope you are blessing people on your path more than ever. Remember, energy is energy. Keep sharing the positive as it is what this winter solstice season is about…remembering our light and letting it shine.

Santa I guess wanted me to wake up in my own bed on Christmas morning. I am going tonight to church at The Unity Center and celebrating with the children. I cannot imagine doing anything else this year than being with my spiritual family since I am not with my biological family or my friends. Of course, if I were in Illinois, I would be going to church as it is our family tradition. There is a reason we have traditions. It centers us back to home. I am finally home in San Diego. It has taken me 3 years to make it so but blessed be I have arrived.

This has been a great year and 2009 is going to be fantastic. I am starting my New Year’s with an open house on January 1. There is a folklore that says:  ”How one spends New Year’s Day sets the tone or theme for your entire year.” January 1, 2008 I went whale watching. I have lived in California for 25 years and had never gone. My theme for this year has been doing things I have never done. This was a fun year because I realized that if I am adventuring, I am happy. This year I want my theme to be that people come to my home to celebrate life. If you are in town, come by, it will be a beach bash for sure.

My 2009 is starting with a party at my house New Year’s Day. I am going to Disneyland on the 3rd for the first time since 1988. Then, January 17th I fly to Philadelphia to get to the Presidential Inauguration in Washington, D.C.! My friend Kyra Randall who was one of my 25 roommates in the 1980s in San Francisco has invited me to go. Her father, Benny Holman, was the first African American Fire Chief in San Diego. Benny has given Krya tickets to the Inaugural reception and last night Kyra called and invited me to go. She said that she could not imagine going with anyone else. Kyra, dido! I guess Spirit wants me in that sacred place on January 20th to witness history in the making. Wow..I am so there :)

I had written a life “To Do” list this year and seeing the Freedom Bell in Philadelphia was on it. Now, I have a plane ticket. If Mother Nature allows, I will be there in just a few weeks. Dreams are meant to come true. However, we have to do the work, walk the walk, not just talk the talk to make them happen. There is no secret to manifesting. It is up to us and our choices with what the river brings good or bad, positive or negative.

Martin Luther King said, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” I think we just need to shine our light and love more, to get more love. I need to bless others to be blessed. There is no real question about what I am ‘to do’. I just need to keep loving more to have a more loving world.

My river is bringing me Christmas blessings. I hope yours is bring you the same. We are one family. We are one people. We are all so very blessed in this America. If you do not like Christmas traditions, I might suggest that you just go and create some that do work for you. As long as they make you happy and do not hurt others, your happiness blesses us all. I think that was what Jesus really wanted us to know. Each of us do make a difference. How are you going to make yours?

Happy Holy Season!

Love Always, Sally

Millionaire Mind Intensive Wow!

November 24, 2008

I have just spend a transformative weekend healing my stuck places around the abundance possible for me in this life. I am committed to others to help make their dreams come true. It only makes sense that I am able to do the same for myself :)

Here is a favorite moment. We were to affirm a lot that “I am a Money Magnet!” Well, on Saturday morning, my seat mates crashed into me from both sides when I proclaimed this as truth. It was a spontaneous moment that left us all giggling like kids. Thank you Corey and Andrew…you made me smile for the rest of the weekend!

I just have to share their shining selves with you today…

IAndrew & Corey with Money Magnet Sally

In the coming days, I will be posting all of the contact information and businesses for those amazing souls that I shared this transformative weekend with. I am committed to continue to promote those people who are committed to their own visions and prosperity.

I feel so grateful for the abundance in my life. I am committed now to a greater vision that I now can see will manifest.

Thanks for joining the ride!

Maui Mulligan’s Magic

September 22, 2008

In a six week period of time this summer, I got a new laptop, a new camera, and a new iphone. I guess I needed new technology and this blog is a part of the reason why. My creative palette needed these wonderful mediums to make it possible to share the magic of my path. I am in my learning curve with all of it and of course my journey is full of moments to document and to tell stories about. So here I am in Maui for the last days of summer of 2008, hanging out with my AMSI posse. My friend Robb invited us to go to see his friend Gail Swanson preform at a local Wailea pub called Mulligan’s.

Gail & Robb

Gail & Robb

Here is what happened because Gail is so willing to share her stage and heart with with who shows up. For more info about her go to Gail Swanson and for more information about who showed up go to Bryan Benner

In the meantime, I invite you to watch this video to share the magic of that night. Bryan is so right as he sings his original song in which he sings my Truth about life in the most simple words…“Love Carries You.”

Bless you Gail and Bryan for sharing your hearts, your talents, and your clear commitment to your art. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!

Manifesting Music by Sky

September 12, 2008
cheers to sky06-love-forever

cheers to sky who shows up

So I was in a downward dog 2 weeks ago at yoga. It is often in this position that God speaks to me. I guess I am in a receptive state with  my head to the Mother Earth! Anyway, I had committed to myself that this year in addition to creating a BLOG, I would make my meditation tapes into cds.

Originally my buddy Sky recorded me in 1994 and added his gorgeous music which made the meditation journey amazing. So, I hear loud and clear “Contact Sky and tell him what you are doing!” So, I go home and low and behold, the only thing I have is a hotmail address which is skymusic@hotmail.com just in case you want to write him after you hear his beautiful music! I send him an email and the very next day, Sky calls! He says “Sally, I am in Truth or Consequences, NM (yes, there is really a place with that name!?) and I have nothing to do for a week. I will come to see you in San Diego!” The next thing you know Sky is at my door the 48 hours from when I hear to find him.

Amazing what happens when you are listening. The hard part is taking the action. I listened. I acted. I received the gift of Sky. Who now is reproducing my raw data into the technology of today instead of 1994.

Thank you Sky for reminding me how connected we all are. Thank you Sky for showing up. Thank you Sky for helping me to help others with their inward journeys. Thank you Sky for being my friend.

If you want to know more about Sky visit http://www.musicbysky.com and breath it in…the sounds of love.

Cheers to you and your beautiful, beautiful sounds of Life!

Smiling, Sally
